Mr. Banny Mataba Tawaba is an M.Tech student specializing in Watershed Management in the Department of Hydrology at IIT Roorkee, under the guidance of Prof. Bhaskar Jyoti Deka. He completed his B.Tech in Geomatics from the University of Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Banny Mataba Tawaba is passionate about landfill leachate management, particularly wastewater treatment and improving effluent quality. His research focuses on the treatment of landfill leachate using Dissolved Air Flotation.
Mr. Amit Raj received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from N.C.E. Chandi, Nalanda. In 2024, he joined the Department of Hydrology to pursue M.Tech degree under the supervision of Prof. Bhaskar Jyoti Deka. His primary area of interest is Environmental Hydrological modelling with a focus on understanding and managing water resources.
Ms. Aparna Xalxo is a M. Tech student specializing in Dam Safety & Rehabilitation under Department of International Centre of Excellence for Dams at IIT Roorkee, under the guidance of Prof. Bhaskar Jyoti Deka. She has completed her B. Tech in Civil Engineering branch from Govt. Engineering College Jagdalpur (C.G.). Her research interests are Geomembranes and polymeric barrier systems, dam safety and performance assessment, seepage control and mitigation measures for hydraulic structures.
Ms. Simran Yadav is an M.Tech student specializing in Watershed Management within hydrology Department at IIT Roorkee, under the guidance of Prof. Bhaskar Jyoti Deka. She has completed her B. Tech in civil engineering from APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. Simran is passionate about pollution control in air and water, with a particular focus on inorganic pollutants and improving environmental quality. Her research interests focuses on piezoelectric based hollow fibre membrane fabrication technologies for eliminating pollutants.
Mr. Mark Theimi Konghar is an M.Tech student specializing in Watershed Management within the hydrology Department at IIT Roorkee, under the guidance of Prof. Bhaskar Jyoti Deka. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from The National Institute of Technology, Manipur. Mr Konghar is passionate in the development of cost-effective water purification methods, and his research interests focus on oil/water separation through the use of super hydrophilic membranes.
Ms. Arohi Uniyal is an enthusiastic and dedicated Hydrology postgraduate student currently pursuing her M.Tech at IIT Roorkee under the guidance of Prof. Bhaskar Jyoti Deka. She holds a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from G.B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. Her research interests focus on the removal of short-chain PFAS from water, reflecting her commitment to advanced water treatment and environmental sustainability.
